Navigating the Space Between You

If you are looking for couples counselling in the UK, you may be feeling stuck, disconnected, or caught in repeating arguments that never fully resolve.

I offer relationship counselling for couples who want to:

Improve communication
Rebuild trust after rupture
Reduce recurring conflict
Deepen emotional intimacy
Navigate life transitions
Decide whether to repair or separate consciously

Sessions are 75 minutes and available indoors, online, or outdoors (walk-and-talk therapy).

My Approach

Transactional Analysis for Couples

My work is grounded in Transactional Analysis — a practical and insightful form of psychotherapy that helps couples understand their communication patterns and relational “scripts.”

In sessions, we explore:

This approach helps you move from reactive exchanges to more grounded, Adult-to-Adult communication.

My work is also ecological and co-creative — meaning we consider the wider systems influencing your relationship (family, work, culture, environment), and we shape the therapy together based on your goals.

Couples Therapy FAQ

faq
What happens in the first session?

In our first 75-minute couples therapy session, we will:

  • Explore what brings you to relationship counselling
  • Clarify what each partner hopes will change
  • Begin identifying recurring patterns
  • Agree how we will work together

The aim is understanding — not blame.

Some couples find clarity within 6–8 sessions. Others choose longer-term therapy to address deeper, long-standing relational patterns.

We review progress regularly to ensure the work remains useful and appropriately paced.

It is common for one partner to feel unsure about couples counselling.

In this work, the client is the relationship — not one individual.

The free consultation allows both of you to experience a balanced, non-judgemental space before committing to ongoing sessions.

To maintain a clear and safe therapeutic container, I generally work with you together in couples therapy.

If individual therapy is needed, I can discuss referring you to a separate therapist to maintain professional boundaries.

Couples therapy is not always about staying together.

It can also support:

  • Conscious uncoupling
  • Respectful separation
  • Co-parenting conversations
  • Processing grief

Parting well can be just as important as staying together.
