Individual Counselling & Psychotherapy in Liverpool

Accompanying You on the Path to Resilience

Taking the significant step to engage in one-to-one support is a powerful act of self-care. Whether you are navigating a specific life crisis, feeling perpetually “stuck” in old relationship patterns, or seeking to understand the deeper roots of your personal story, I offer a dedicated, safe space in Liverpool to explore what needs to emerge for your growth.

My therapeutic approach is co-creative. This means we work as equal partners, moving at your chosen pace, with deep curiosity and respect for your journey. Whether we meet in-person in my Liverpool office, securely online via video call, or outdoors with “walk and talk” therapy in the natural spaces around Liverpool, the core goal remains the same: to help you build the emotional, mental, and spiritual resilience needed for the fulfilling life you truly want to lead.

Counselling vs. Psychotherapy
Understanding Your Options

While the terms ‘counselling’ and ‘psychotherapy’ are often used interchangeably, they offer distinct focuses for therapeutic work. In our initial consultation, we can discuss which approach feels most appropriate and beneficial for your current needs and goals.

difference
Short-Term & Focused

Counselling

Counselling is typically a shorter-term intervention and more intensely focused on a specific, present-day issue or recent life event—such as navigating a difficult life transition, recovering from professional burnout, or resolving a specific relational conflict. We concentrate on immediate coping strategies and achieving clarity.

Long-Term & Depth

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy tends to be a longer-term, more in-depth therapeutic journey. It looks deeper at the foundational "internal scripts," attachment styles, and lived experiences that have profoundly shaped who you are today. It is particularly helpful for untangling complex trauma, navigating religious wounding, or addressing long-term, entrenched patterns like chronic anxiety and addiction recovery.

Who Can Benefit from Therapy in Liverpool?

Based centrally in Liverpool, I provide inclusive therapy to adults from all backgrounds and walks of life. While my own personal worldview is informed by my Christian faith, I have extensive experience (over 12 years) living and working in diverse, cross-cultural settings. I journey alongside people of all beliefs (or none) without imposing my own views.

Your Free Initial Consultation

The quality of the “fit” and connection between therapist and client is widely considered the single most important factor in the success of your therapy. Because of this, I offer a free 30-minute consultation (conducted online or via phone).

This is a low-pressure, no-obligation opportunity for us to meet, for you to share a little of what brings you to seek counselling or psychotherapy, and for us to mutually determine if we are the right match to walk this important path together.
